Exclusive CFRN Interview w/Lil Ash
(by Cameron Joy)

1. ) Your songs really indicate that you read the Word of God, what beside the Word of God inspires your music? Circumstances, other artists, etc?

Well, my music is mostly based on my everyday life and what goes in. I've experienced a lot of things in life and I just write it on paper and express the words with a song. that's what my daddy taught me. and mostly the singers are the ones that inspire me through my music... such as, Kierra Sheard, Mary Mary, and Fred Hammond...

2.) It is very impressive and refreshing to see a young lady on fire for God, especially since many young people are caught up in the"wrong stuff", are you able to share your faith with your friends?

Yes I am. I talk to my friends about Jesus.... sometimes the people would think I'm too mature because I know God... but I don't care. I stick with the word.

3.) We as your supporters and listeners want to know something about you that we don't know.... it could be anything.... do you have a boyfriend? Do you face peer pressure? Share your heart with us.....

I don't have a boyfriend.... I believe I have to wait till the right time to have a boyfriend.. not at this age. I face a lot of peer pressure... I had to deal with people laughing at me because I'm a virgin.... people calling me fat.... girls call me ugly.... and I was even sexually assaulted by a 5th grade student once... but I choose to let God deal with the evil... I'm working on ME... My inside... not my outer appearance.. so I don't care about what the other girls say....

4.) How has CFRN impacted and influenced you?

I love seeing women actually doing something positive. and sticking with gospel. not out with the world but are totally different... and i love it.

5.) Do you have any role models or any people you look up to and why?

I look up to Octavia because she has a big testimony to share. And I love the fact that she's working hard to put her ministry out there so that other women would be encouraged...

6.) You have a new album dropping later this year. It's called "Prophetic Hip Hop". What inspired that title and what is the message that you want people to get from this album?

Prophetic HipHop is going to be basically about my calling and the way i take it. So many people think christian rap is still with the devil... but if you take the word hiphop and put prophetic in front.... then that will prove that I TRULY do my music for Christ.....

7.) The CFRN is really proud of you and supports you to the fullest. Please give some of our young girls some encouragement and share your light for a minute if you don't mind.

Don't have sex. Don't do drugs... Stay away from the wrong crowd and read your word! It's very very important. My music is for you young people who love rap and want to hear about God on a different level. if you don't like all of that contemporary christian music and quartet and stuff... that's ok... i don't either. haha. but this music is mainly for you.

8.) What was it like working with Beats by Octavia and Doc Sizzo for this album???

It 's a great experience because I actually get to collaborate with all of these beat makers that are doing it for God....

9.) Any last comments ot shout outs to friends, family, supporters???

First God.
Then my mom who was healed by God.
My father for being an awesome director and full time dad...
and Octavia. I love you. You're the best.
